We arrived in Copenhagen excited for three days of specialty coffee and left slightly sleep-deprived, over-caffeinated, and with a phone full of new contacts.
Last week, the IVL Creatives team attended World of Coffee Copenhagen 2024, one of Europe's largest specialty coffee events, hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association. Between shooting content for Vuna, meeting new people, and exploring the latest coffee industry trends, there was plenty to experience.
From competitions and awards to workshops, lectures, and networking events, there was no shortage of fun. In this blog, we share some of our highlights from World of Coffee Copenhagen 2024.
While most people came to World of Coffee with beans, machines, and coffee cups in hand, we came with cameras. Throughout World of Coffee Copenhagen 2024, we captured the VUNA team in action during their Green Coffee Connect programme
By the end of the event, VUNA had a fresh library of photos and videos ready to use across social media, marketing campaigns, and future brand communications.

Our highlight was, of course, Green Coffee Connect. Since we spent most of our time there behind a camera, we had a front-row seat to some of the most interesting conversations happening in coffee right now.
Our biggest takeaway? Some of the most exciting coffee innovations are happening beyond the cup. From regenerative agriculture and circular business models to upcycled coffee ingredients and coffee waste products, company after company showed how much untapped value still exists throughout the coffee supply chain.
A few brands we especially loved:
Kaffe Bueno
Kaffe Bueno is a Danish bioscience company that upcycles coffee by-products into high-performance, all-natural ingredients. Their work is a great example of how coffee is much more than a drink. It's a sustainable resource.
Connecting Grounds
Connecting Grounds is helping coffee companies turn sustainability ambitions into practical action. Their focus on collaboration and knowledge-sharing was a recurring theme throughout Green Coffee Connect.
Coffeeco
Coffeeco transforms coffee waste into valuable resources through science-driven innovation. From skincare to biobased plastics, they are helping build a more circular coffee economy.
La Cabra
Known for its carefully sourced coffees and minimalist approach, La Cabra continues to push conversations around quality, transparency, and long-term relationships throughout the coffee supply chain.
Kawa Moka
Kawa Moka takes a circular approach to coffee by not only roasting its own beans but also exploring ways to use coffee by-products in beauty products such as body oils.
Mater
Mater transforms coffee waste into beautifully designed furniture. Their work is a reminder that spent coffee grounds do not have to become waste.
DRWakefield
One of the most interesting products we came across was NAOX from DRWakefield. The drink is made from coffee cherry pulp, the fruit surrounding the coffee bean that is often discarded during coffee processing.

After three days at World of Coffee Copenhagen 2024, one thing became clear: the coffee industry is full of good people building incredible businesses that deserve to be seen.
From roasters and traders to innovators turning coffee waste into entirely new products, we left inspired by the people shaping the future of coffee.
